New and ImprovedSeptember 8, 2010Sorry the summer has taken me away so much. Hopefully I will be able to update once a week from now on. We have a few investigations on the horizon. All private residences and possibly one business. We have a meeting set for September 25th at 2:00 pm so if anyone is interested please contact me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Amanda lost her father in May from cancer, it really is such a horrible disease! I lost my sister from California, due to complications from surgery. Amanda and I flew to California for her funeral, and of course due to the rich history we had to take one day to ghost hunt. We went to Old Sacramento, which was the original settlement on the Sacramento River. The town flooded and the buildings that are there now were built on top of the original. There are tunnels beneath which actually have the original store fronts. Unfortunately these are no longer accessible to the average Joe, due to homeless people setting up camp there, oh yeah and did I mention RATS?? Ewwwwwwww We went to the historical society there and had a couple of weird experiences, such as dizziness and just hearing noises. We also visited The River City Saloon. We talked to the bar tender there who was full of paranormal stories. One night she had been in the kitchen cooking (there were several regulars in the bar, along with a gentleman who seemed to attract ghosts!), when suddenly the swinging door to the bar swung open. She was startled and ran how to see who was trying to scare her. Needless to say no one fessed up. So they all decided to look at the surveillance tapes. Low and behold there was no one there when the door opened. Amanda and I both had a feeling that something was there but alas we had no equipment besides a camera since we were sightseeing, so to speak. We also visited the Vegas nightclub and bar. This is where in the 70's the "Vampire of Sacramento" Richard Chase hung out. The Vegas was a disco at the time. A fellow ghost hunter Paul Dale Roberts from Sacramento, had seen him there in the 70's. Paul also gave me our first ghost tour of Sacramento in 2009, he is a member of HPI, with whom we are affiliated. Amanda and I really had a strong feeling of a presence in the pool room and also outside in their little bar area. I also felt uneasy in the ladies restroom. Rumor has it that he was rejected in this bar and that is what started his killing spree. During a very sad and depressing time we managed to indulge in our passion, ghost hunting. Hey by the way we are in need of some serious, dedicated, and hard working paranormal enthusiasts. We had many who join to go on an investigation and then just suddenly disappear. We want people who are dedicated to our group, who are passionate about the paranormal and willing to find the truth. All equipment is owned by the group so there is no need to buy anything unless you want to. Annual dues are $25.00 due upon acceptance of your application, and donations at group meetings of whatever you can give. Even if it is only 10 cents it helps us financially towards fundraising events. The money from fund raising goes towards, future fund raisers and group trips to known haunted locations. We also are totally re-vamping the group and voting on various position that are available. Positions are, treasurer, public relations, event coordinator, secretary, and human resources.
